Teacher-Parent Talks

I went to school yesterday morning and took my first grader to his class room and I was very glad to talk to his teacher briefly. We were having some troubles on my eldest son studies couple of months ago and I was really disappointed but not hopeless though. It feels good and a great relief when she told me that his doing great and he is ready for second grade.

CRTC test result just came yesterday and I am hoping to get the result and evaluation report today. Were all very excited and proud of his little achievement and I hope he will continue learning. We are fixing to drive down to the city library today and borrow all the books that we can read. We need to read everyday because it helps him to be more articulate and increase his vocabulary. Wish us luck guys.

China Earthquake

Reading the world news everyday is a thing that I do. I was checking the updates about Myanmar but my page landed into the Earthquake China webpage. A powerful earthquake hit China on Monday afternoon it’s the worse earthquake in three decades and has killed nearly 10,000 people in western Sichuan province.

The earthquake was 7.8 magnitudes! I cannot imagine how powerful and strong it was. I felt numbed while reading the news about the eight schools that toppled down where 900 souls were buried under a three storey school building. So many died and I am speechless for this calamity. Let us pray and hope God will be more merciful to us.

I know it’s too late to say “Happy Mother’s Day to All Mommy” out here but its better late than never “naphtha”. I was not able to hop or post anything yesterday because I promised my boys that Mommy will not work on Mother’s Day and not even blog hopping or anything. Myanmar Updates

I was reading the news about Myanmar awhile ago and it’s very sad to know that Myanmar’s junta impounded two U.N. food aid shipments at Yangon airport on Friday. The shipments was said to be enough to feed 95,000 people (its 38 tonnes of high-energy biscuits). It should be on trucks headed to the victims but now sitting on a tarmac doing no good according to Banbury.

As what I understand, Myanmar’s junta will only accept relief in cash and in kind but no foreign aid workers are allowed. I have no idea what’s the reasons but I hope the food and other goods will be deliver to the victims soon because they needed it. The last time I’ve checked the death toll, it’s officially remains at nearly 23,000 with 42,199 people still missing. I will update you all about Myanmar next time.

The Iron Man

I have 3 boys who are now bugging me to watch the Iron Man movie. My husband has been talking about it after watching 30 minutes of the film. The kids saw the previews and just like their father, they are now glued to it. I have no idea what is all about but I will trust their guts and might go with them to the theater this weekend.

I hate going to the movie tagging my little naughty ones because they are noisy, whiny and want to buy everything in the snack bar “hahahhaa”. I rather rent and watch movies in the house where everything are available and cheap too! Oh well, it’s been awhile since our last movie escapade, so I said YES to them.

I never had a latte` top with such art before, all I get every time is just a big mount of foamy creamy milk. I should start making my own latte` and learn that cool thing on top. Anyway, it’s late and my other kiddo is still awake…I better tuck that boy to bed before the clock hit 12 midnight. Sorry, for not hopping today but I promised to hop tomorrow guys. Have a great night.

Carol's Journey Movie

I was watching the movie El Viaje De Carol or Carol‘s Journey not long time ago and it was a good film and a must to see. The film was made on 2004 and rated 4 stars. It’s all about a 12 year old girl who travels with her mother native village in Spain. Separated from her beloved father who went to war. She struggles to fit in but managed to adjust through the love and help with her grandfather and friends. I really like the story a lot and it’s very heart warming drama. I recommend it and hey! I’ve watched something really good the other day but I can’t remember the title of it. It’s about a family who travels far going to Rio Dejenero by bicycles only. I will look for that movie again and post it next time.

Dogwood Trees

(photo grabbed)

I was walking the dog the other day and noticed that the some dogwood trees around my neighborhood are still blooming like crazy. Mine had already bloomed and now covered with new leaves. Gosh, I’m wondering why…their dogwoods are still blooming. Tomorrow, I will drive around and check for azaleas or maybe go to Indian spring and check the wild flowers blooming. It’s getting warmer down here in the South and I am not too crazy of summer season to come soon. I hate it when it’s too hot and humid that you can’t almost breathe. Oh well, I have no choice but to embrace and enjoy summer and go get another pool for the kids to dip in sometimes.

Miley Cyrus

(photo from:guardian.co.uk.)

The photograph is beautiful indeed but personally speaking it’s not a good photo for young kiddos who idolized and fantasizing to be like her. I hope my little nieces will not ask me one day to take photos like hers. She is young and probably no idea that much and may not be fully responsible of her action. Shame to her parents for letting her does such photo shoots.

I heard and read so many comments “good and bad”…so guys, dig the story on the net and decide it for you. But for me, she’s too young, a role model to little girls and she should be wholesome.

How to Keep My Love

I’ve watched the movie in titled “How to keep My Love” last night and it was one of my favorite love stories. My goodness! I cried so hard but was so glad that it has happy ending or else I will be pissed off to death.

The movie is a about a woman in her late twenties who keeps waiting for her boyfriend, a professional exterminator-to pop the big “Will You marry Me” question. Yet he doesn’t. So-Hun (boyfriend) caught between the desires of two women and he must choose which one to be with. Guys, this movie is cute, funny, and romantic …gosh! I sound like on my teens or 20’s ‘shame shame’. I can’t help it…it’s a cute story and I’m sure you’re going to like it too.

Were planning to hid the Florida beach in the summer and spend days at the beach swimming. Gosh! I’m not sure if I can get myself wet in the ocean water anymore. I better watch the kids like a watch dog or better to stay in a pool “hahaha”…it’s a mother talking now. What do you think?
